Perms grew up. The modern perm is not the tight crunch from the 80s. It is soft waves, real volume, and texture that holds its shape wash after wash. At The HeadQuarters in downtown Lafayette, our artists build your perm around your hair: its texture, its condition, and how much movement you actually want. Think of it as turning up the volume on what you already have, or adding waves where your hair falls flat. Our team includes national educators who teach cutting and texture to other stylists for a living. That level of skill is what sits in our chairs every day.
The Service: Perm. Book the time, not the service. Your artist builds the setlist for your hair: solution strength, rod size, and timing, and builds the whole appointment around it. Consultation is built into every appointment, so the plan gets made before anything gets wrapped. Not sure your hair is ready? Book a consultation first and we will tell you honestly. We would rather wait than push hair that is not ready.
FAQs:
Why get a perm at The HeadQuarters? Because texture is specialist work. Your time is booked by the hour: consultation, perm, and finish, with no add-ons and no surprise charges at checkout. We are a teaching salon with multiple educators on staff, in a space that's proudly HUMAN. Every texture, every identity, welcome in our chairs.
How much does a perm cost? Our artists book hourly, ranging from $60–$150/hour depending on the artist you choose. Most perms take 2 to 3 hours, and the price you are quoted is the price you pay.
How long does a perm appointment take? Plan for 2 to 3 hours for most hair. Very long or thick hair takes longer. Your artist will give you a real timeline at consultation, so nobody has to rush the good part.
Will a perm damage my hair? An honest answer: any chemical service asks something of your hair, and a perm is no different. That is why consultation comes first. If your hair needs repair before it can handle a perm, we will tell you and stage the work. Healthy hair holds a perm better and longer.
How long does a perm last, and how do I take care of it? Most perms hold for 3 to 6 months, depending on your hair and how you care for it. Wait 48 hours before washing, go easy on heat, and use the care your artist recommends. Prebooking your encore before you leave is how you keep the texture from ever falling flat.
